Attraction image National Maritime Museum Cornwall An independent museum located on Discovery Quay in Falmouth, National Maritime Museum Cornwall celebrates the incredible maritime history of Falmouth, Cornwall and how the sea influences global culture. The museum houses 15 galleries, over five floors of interactive exhibits.

Summer Holidays Pirate School

National Maritime Museum Cornwall is setting sail for the summer holidays with Pirate School, craft making activities, a brand new permanent exhibition and a museum trail – all free with the admission fee.

Become a Pirate School recruit and join in the daily fun-packed sessions with Rattlebox Theatre. Load a cannon, handle some pirate treasure and navigate your way round a pirate ship. There are four different sittings each day running Monday – Friday until 30th August.

Formed over 20 years ago Rattlebox Theatre specialises in historical projects, and through storytelling, puppeteering and performance bring history to life.

Get hands on at the pirate Make and Take craft making workshops - make a pirate hat, cutlass, telescope, parrot and treasure chest - all the essentials for a buccaneer’s life at sea. Sessions run every day, midday – 3.30pm, until 30th August.

Join the Pirate Parrot Treasure Trail, seven parrots have jumped ship and are hidden in the Museum. Find them all and become a first rate shipmate.

These special summer holiday activities are included free of charge as part of the ticket price to enter the museum. Also included is access to 15 galleries, including dedicated spaces to Cornish maritime history, the Titanic Stories exhibition, and all the usual family favourites such as the Treasure Island Play Zone and the Tidal Zone.
