Time: 2pm to 4pm
Artyology at Wheal Martyn with local artists Suzy Johnson and Lynn Simms: Clay Landscape Drawing
24th August, 2019
Explore Wheal Martyn’s site with Suzy and Lynn and learn how to capture the perfect photograph. The white pyramids surrounding Wheal Martyn are one the most iconic symbols of the china clay industry. Although they could be seen as just the spoils of the industry, the pyramids have become part of the identity of the area and a reminder of the importance of the industry. Artyology are offering a series of art workshops focusing on clay heritage, by exploring the site at Wheal Martyn, including the opportunity to take your very own photographs. Please bring your own mobile phone or digital camera. The photographs will be exhibited as part of the White Gold festival on Saturday 21st September at Wheal Martyn and installed on the clay trails leading up to Wheal Martyn. All are warmly welcome and the workshops are suitable for ages 8+, including adults. No previous art experience is necessary and you are welcome to attend all of the workshop in the series. Please wear suitable clothing for mess and weather. The workshops are free, but usual museum entry still applies. No need to book, just drop-in to the museum.
