If only they could talk: Lanhydrock's early owners and their books

Visitors to Lanhydrock this November can enjoy a fascinating guided tour in the house. The tour, which is running over weekends in November, tells the story of the early owners of Lanhydrock through looking at their portraits and includes a closer look at some of the rare book collection.

On display will be William Ockham’s ‘The work of ninety days’, a book that helped King Henry VIII to build his case against the Pope and annul his marriage to his first wife, Catherine of Aragon.

The guided tours are running over the weekends of 5 & 6th, 12th & 13th, 19th & 20th, 26th & 27th November between 11am – 4pm, with the last tour starting at 3pm. Reduced winter admission fees apply and members are free.

Visitors can also enjoy the magnificent autumn colour in the garden and estate, browsing for Christmas gifts in the shop and a warming hot chocolate in the Park Café, which is open every day from 11am - 4pm.
