You'll meet stunningly colourful birds including many rare and beautiful parrots, Caribbean flamingos, Red-billed Cornish choughs, Humboldt's penguins, Bald eagles, kookaburras, hornbills and owls. With over 1,000 birds plus, beautiful Red pandas, rare Red squirrels and playful Asian otters there is a wonderful selection to see. In the summer join in Carrot Time on the Fun Farm with mini donkeys, fun pygmy goats and sheep, and cute rabbits and guinea pigs. Wildlife conservation is at the heart of Paradise Park and is the home of the World Parrot Trust, which has helped the survival of 70 species of parrot in 43 countries.
Director Alison Hales comments "Children love the penguins, especially the summer penguin photocall at the end of the talk and feed sessions. During the 'Flight of Rainbows' experience there is the option to buy small pots of nectar to feed the forty plus little Lorikeets that come swooping out from their enclosure down onto the awaiting crowd. It's a fantastic experience!"
From Easter to September experience the 'Eagles of Paradise' display. A fantastic opportunity to see birds like Archie the Bald Eagle and Tangee the Palm-nut Vulture close-up as they fly over and around you during these very informative and interesting flying displays. Meet the keepers and birds at the end of the show to ask questions and for great photo opportunities. Also in the summer be amazed by the 'Free Flying Bird Show'. Presenters explain and display natural bird behaviours in a wonderfully entertaining way. Not to be missed is the end of show macaw flying troop with Scarlet, Blue and Gold and green Military macaws flying free in-between and above you across the picnic lawn.
Treat yourself to a hot meal or cream tea in Otter Pool Cafe or pop over to the Bird In Hand Pub just opposite the entrance you can be sure of a wide and tasty selection of local home made food and drink.
The otters are another favourite and can often be seen out playing and swimming in their pool next to the main cafe.
