Standing over the historic port of Charlestown, (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), The Shipwreck Treasure Museum shows a unique insight into the history of maritime adventures and misfortunes. It is a museum of peril and possibility, where a seabed of salvaged storied waits to be explored.
Discover 8,000 finds from over 150 shipwrecks. Marvel at the only intact barrel of coins ever recovered from a wreck along with ingots of copper, or a ship surgeon?s medicine bottle set. Look deeper and you will see the story of people who sailed with those objects on the high seas.
A new exhibit features images from many famous Hollywood films and popular TV series which have been filmed at Charlestown. These images can be viewed in the fascinating photographic gallery Charlestown on Film.
Tempting treasures can be purchased from the Shipwreck Treasure Museum gift shop, Cornish Moonshine shop or Joules and a variety of food and beverage options are available with the onsite Rebellion Roast House restaurant or On the Deck catering.
The Shipwreck Treasure Museum is proud to be dog friendly. Well behaved dogs are welcome, provided they are on a lead.
Parking is conveniently located less than 100 meters away in the pay and display car park. There are also regular bus series providing easy access To Charlestown and the Shipwreck Treasure Museum.
